Scar Portrait by Bimmerd Scar Portrait by Bimmerd
Pfff this took me damn long but I'm really proud of it.
I tried a kinda realistic style. Of course, there are still things not right but I think this drawing give me a bit more motivation to try realistic.

This is my first and favourite character Scar.

So you wanted a crit ;)
Here you go!

First of all I notice you have practiced some on the more realistic style. This worked out rather good. I would just like to give a little extra info on what to improve if you would like to continue this style.
First of all, I think that his right eye is just a tad off, the underside should be be less angles towards the top, because you can't see all of the eye and so, you won't end on the -almost- upper line of the eyelid.

Secondly, this is a detail, but it might be helpful getting also some detail in the nose structure, because it feels empty when looking at it right now.

Then about the fur structure, it's good you still use the tot al structured color base and then use in an overlay some little structural hair strands, but don't only use one color for this, use the darker brown also to make the transition between the two colors. Especially on the the neck. Don't be afraid to use some lighter hairs on the dark brown base, because that might just give it that extra realistic edge.

Then, the lighting seems a bit off. Try to get one real source and base all of your back shades and light on this. An example are the ears, you don't really know where the light is falling on, so it all seems soft and without much detail in it. To give the image that extra, try using real light almost whitish brown colors, because now it's just to little lighting you have done on this image. The same for the dark shade, just get it that almost black look just on the edge of the ear, under the jaw-cheek fur, just to let it stand out more.

And now after putting all minor flaws, please, just when you make a necklace for Scar, please give it that realistic look too. If you don't know how to shade metal, check a tutorial, I've read them too and it does help.

Not that I'm a pro, but hope this helped.
I couldn't help much on the anatomy really, because I'm a human-artist.

But still, love the piece, realism is hard, but you gave it a good try! Hope you'll continue, because this has potential. :)

P.S. Sorry bout the impact-rating, but it's a really undynamical pose you drew ^^'
