Well SAI is software that works best with a tablet, but without a tablet you can change the settings a bit.
Go to Others > Options, make sure the mouse is selected there and play around with the drift. That'll make your mouse work a bit like a tablet with pen pressure, so search for the right amount of drift untill it makes the colors flow into eachother nicely ^^
I had water brush not just water color. The next time I used Sai, it was gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times but it is still gone. Anyone know how to get it back. I need it for backgrounds and blending.
You should, but indeed only when you're in the mood ^^ Haha I can imagine that yes, it's more touchable ^^ You should try to colour some trad drawings with the water tool O,O I'm sure that can give some lovely results ^^
Of course not, you can use it for skin, for scales for everything (but than of course you won't create hairs with thin brushes xD) Shading with the blur tool is A LOT different. NEVER shade with the blur tool, really NEVER do that. The water tool is more like a smudge tool. You use it to blend colours while blurtool should only be used to show depth in a drawing D8
Hmm.. maybe that's why my shading sucks xD Ahhh... that's a lot harder o.O Good reason to get out my tablet again though x3 Have been drawing without a tablet for the past couple of months xD There's still a lot I need to learn xD Wish somebody could help me.. But, as I don't even have it as a class... x3
Well no-one in RL can probably learn you how to draw digital. You should learn it yourself. Try some new stuff, use different brushes to see the different results, work with opacity, etc. You should really try some stuff out with the water brush
Hmm, I notice that this technique makes you lose quite some contrast on the way. From something with more dynamic and bold shading, after using the brush it's like it all falls back into a much more drab monotone.
I suppose that can be fixed by starting off with darker shades and sharper highlights?
